They are generally classified in one of two types: 1) Primary, meaning they are diseases on their own, without being a symptom of another disease. These primary headaches include migraines, tension headaches and clusters. they are the most common reason for headaches. 2) Secondary, meaning they arise in setting of other illnesses or conditions, such as meningitis or brain tumors.
